The game master's agreement.

These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Scribe.Quest ("we"). By using the app you accept them. If you run sessions for other people, you also take on the game master's responsibilities below. The app shows this same text and asks you to accept it before your first recorded session, and again whenever it changes.

What Scribe.Quest does

Scribe.Quest listens to a tabletop game, transcribes it on your device, and uses the transcript to keep a chronicle: recaps, answers to questions, illustrations of moments, music moods and prepared scenes. In Discord sessions it joins a voice channel with a bot that you set up and control.

You are the game master, and recording is your responsibility

Tell everyone, every time. Before each session, tell every person at the table and in the voice channel that the session is being recorded and transcribed, what the transcript is used for, and that they can ask you to stop. Do this again when someone joins late. The app posts a notice in your Discord text channel and marks the bot as recording, but the notice does not replace your own words.

Record lawfully. Recording laws differ by place. Some require the consent of everyone recorded. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you and your players are, and for getting any consent they require. If anyone objects, stop or pause the session.

Minors. Do not record a minor without the consent of a parent or guardian where that is required.

Stop when asked. Pause or end the session for anyone who withdraws consent, and delete the transcript or lines they ask you to delete.

Voices

The scribe speaks with a cloned voice. Only clone your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed to have it cloned for your table. Do not use the app to imitate a real person without their consent.

Your content

Campaigns, transcripts, recaps and pictures are yours. You are responsible for what you record and for what you share. Do not use the app for anything unlawful, to harass anyone, or to record people who have not been told.

AI-generated text and pictures

Recaps, answers, illustration briefs, moods and pictures are generated by AI models and can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate. Review them before relying on them or sharing them. Generated pictures may not be used to depict a real person without that person's consent.

Third-party services

Discord, your chosen AI providers and Apple's services have their own terms and privacy practices, which you accept separately. Scribe.Quest is not affiliated with Discord or with Wizards of the Coast; Dungeons & Dragons is a trademark of Wizards of the Coast.

No warranty, limited liability

Scribe.Quest is provided as is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, for the content of transcripts or generated material, or for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the twelve months before a claim.

Changes

When these terms change, the app asks you to read and accept the new version before you record again. The version date at the top identifies the terms you accepted.
